Child Care Council staff and six child care providers working toward accreditation from the National Association for Family Child Care recently attended the Association’s 2016 National Family Child Care Institute conference in San Diego. The accreditation is the highest professional honor given by the National Association for Family Child Care.
During the conference, the providers took advantage of a variety of advanced professional development sessions in childhood education and business to improve their skills. They also had an opportunity to express the importance of quality in child care in the Greater Rochester area and among the area’s Latino community.
In their meetings with accreditation staff, the providers addressed the importance of professional development and how their programs have benefited from the accreditation process. Benefits have included better behavioral management practices, business opportunities, and positive child outcomes.
The six providers also shared how Child Care Council has supported them from the beginning of the accreditation process.
