In recognition of national Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, Child Care Council Inc. is taking part in the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign.
Pinwheels for Prevention is a grassroots signature campaign of Prevent Child Abuse America. The pinwheel symbolizes a person’s commitment to ensuring every child is provided a healthy, safe and nurturing home and an involved, supportive and caring community.
Child Care Council is displaying pinwheels at its three offices in Rochester, Lakeville and Newark, along with vital information about child abuse prevention. Visitors to the Council’s offices also are being asked to sign pledge cards to show support for children and families, which are being displayed in the offices as well.
Prevent Child Abuse New York (PCANY) already has distributed thousands of pinwheels statewide as a demonstration of the fast-growing belief that people and communities can prevent – not just intervene in – child abuse and neglect.
