Brief Summary of Job
The preschool teacher shares the day with a group of children between three and five years of age, maintaining continuous supervision and guidance throughout all daily activities.
She/he develops weekly plans and activities around the themes provided by the Curriculum Director.
She/he serves breakfast, lunch, mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks for children in her/his room, She/he also keeps the room clean and sanitary.
Job Tasks
Teacher’s Duties: Daily (8 hours, 5 days weekly; staggered hours)
Greets parents and children as they enter the room in the morning
Complete daily health check for each student upon arrival
Serves breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks
Engages children in activities and songs throughout the day
Takes at least one picture per day per child in Tadpoles
Complete incident reports for all accidents and incidents
Complete BIR’s (Behavior Incident Reports) for all challenging behaviors
Rinses dishes, cups and silverware in sink and takes to kitchen for washing
Cleans countertops, table tops, floors
Greets parents as they enter the room in the evening
Attends in-service workshops or meetings
Attends staff meetings as designated applicable
Completes a minimum of 15 hours training per year (employee responsibility)
