The Childcare Provider(s) are responsible for providing Sunday morning childcare for children ages 6 weeks – 10 years at First Universalist Church. They are charged with keeping our children safe, providing opportunities to play, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for children and parents/caregivers of all backgrounds and family configurations. All are welcome here!
Schedule: 2 hours/week at $15/hour, 10am-12noon Sept 11- June 16, 2023, and Sundays 9:30am-11:30am from June 23-Sept 1 with opportunities for extra hours on occasion.

Reports to Minister of Lifespan Faith Development

Childcare Provider(s) job responsibilities include:
• Being present on Sunday mornings in the Childcare Room.
• Keeping attendance records.
• Directing parents in how to register their children for the Faith Development program.
• Providing children with developmentally appropriate opportunities to play.
• Supervising children needing to use the toilet or changing diapers as needed. Using hygiene best practices, including hand washing and gloving for diapering.
• Welcoming new families and children into Childcare and to the church.
• Alerting the Minister of Lifespan Faith Development about any safety concerns or behavioral concerns with children in their care.
• Collaborating and consulting with the Minister of Lifespan Faith Development about any planned programming for kids.
• Serving snacks during Sunday morning programming that is attentive to food allergies/sensitivities. (currently on hold)
Education/ Experience:
• Experience in early childhood settings preferred.
Qualifications:
• Ability to partner with co-provider to care for children
• Excellent verbal communication skills with children and caregivers
• Physical ability to lift small children as needed
• Knowledge of early childhood development preferred
• Professional and respectful communication with families, staff, and church members
• Observes boundaries with children to keep them safe
• Must be at least 18 years old, current members not eligible
