    Our agency has proudly achieved National Quality Assurance!

    Fifteen New York CCR&Rs have joined 11 other CCR&Rs as Child Care Aware® of America Quality Assured, a national certification earned by CCR&Rs that demonstrate their administrative functions for core competencies and their services to parents and providers meet national best practices.

    “We are very excited about these results,” said Barbara-Ann Mattle, Chief Executive Officer of Child Care Council, Inc., in Rochester, N.Y., one of the Quality Assured CCR&Rs. “The process took a great deal of effort but we feel strongly that the work has been a great benefit to our organization, and we continue to work to reach 100 percent at all categories.”

    Excellus BCBS Helps Lung Association Create More “Asthma-Friendly” Child Care Centers

    Child Care Council Inc. has partnered with the American Lung Association of New York to develop a pilot project directed at creating the safest environment for children with asthma to receive care. To begin the process of becoming endorsed, attend one of the Asthma 101 trainings, then self-complete the Asthma Friendly Child Care Endorsement Guide. Child Care Council’s Registered Nurses will guide you through the process of becoming an Asthma Friendly endorsed child care program.

    A Quality Rating System in NY is coming!

    QUALITYstarsNY is a comprehensive initiative to ensure that our young children – the 1.5 million New Yorkers under age six – have the opportunity for high quality early learning experiences.

    During 2010, QUALITYstarsNY was piloted to 192 programs, providers and school districts in 13 communities throughout the state. The NYS Education Department hasd allocated funds to support implementation in 2012-2014. About 400 programs will be selected, including the pilot sites.

    CCC has been chosen for the Chase Corporate Challenge!

    Child Care Council, Inc (Rochester), Child Care Resource Network (Buffalo) and Child Care Solutions (Syracuse) will each receive a donation from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, on behalf of the Corporate Challenge. The donations are in partnership with Winning Beginning NY, a statewide early childhood education coalition.
    Registration for the Chase Corporate Challenge events in Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse are now open. The three races will attract nearly 30,000 total participants from over 1,000 upstate New York companies.
